If you didn’t know it already – energy drinks are just bad for you overall. They are full of chemicals, food colorings and dyes, and exorbitant amounts of sugar.
Young athletes everywhere are surprised to see one injury off the field – to their teeth. Downing drink after drink like Gatorade, Red Bull and Monster is taking a huge toll on the oral health of kids. And it’s taking a toll on our teeth.
Even at the Olympics, there were hundreds of dental emergencies, largely due to tooth decay to to sport and energy drinks.

“On any given day, I’d drink at least half a gallon of Gatorade to prepare for it, if not more, and that didn’t include if I had an energy drink,” admits Jon, a Boston sports player.
At 25, Jon has already had two root canals. TWO!
It’s almost an epidemic that we need to make public – drinking water is just as good, if not better for you, while spending so much time out on field or track. Young people are being bombarded with marketing ads – more sugary drinks are showing up in schools and colleges. Water is free, better for you, and it will also help to wash away some of that sugar you’ve already had swishing in your mouth.
