Are eating disorders something you’re born with?

No, the disorder itself is not something you are born with (although there are childhood feeding and eating disorders that occur at a very young age); however, you can be born with a disposition to an eating disorder (e.g. family history of eating disorders).

Is it normal to miss your eating disorder?

very often people who are in recovery miss their eating disorders, it’s a disease of the mind and it’s not always logical. it’s okay if you miss being sick or long for your past behaviors as long as you realize that you’re better off healthy and that you can never go back to who you were because eating disorders only cause pain -kayla

basically i dont know if i have an ED or not so im stuck between wanting to get help or just ignoring it i restrict and stuff but always end up…

That means a lot dear. It definitely is an issue, any kind of eating disorder behaviour is a bad thing. It doesn’t matter if you just do it every once and a while, it is not something you should ever want to do, or actually do. Please please get help. You deserve better than this. Please talk to a parent, or a friend, or someone in your life. Reach out and start to make a change. Please.-Emma
